Hemorrhoids is a medical condition wherein the veins around the rectum and lower anus flare up and get swollen. It is this very swelling which is referred to as hemorrhoids. It is important to note that there are a lot many kinds of nerves present in that very area. Of these nerves we have one group which is known as the internal hemorrhoid vein while one another group is referred to as the external hemorrhoid vein. In the case of internal hemorrhoids it is the internal hemorrhoidal vein which gets swollen and inflamed while in the case of external hemorrhoids it is the external hemorrhoidal vein which gets swollen.

If your food lacks enough fiber and bulk then it is very common that it will result in building up extra pressure around the rectum when you try and pass stool.
This pressure can result in internal hemorrhoids. It is seen that absence of liquids trigger constipation which too is related to the problem of internal hemorrhoids. Pregnancy, being obese and over weight and at the same time lack of any substantial physical activity too can lead towards internal hemorrhoids. The other main culprit is the fact when you keep sitting at one place for too long. The way out here could be to stand up and take small and frequent breaks and at the same time try and keep you weight under control by adopting any form of physical activity.
Apart from the pain and the discomfort, the other main symptoms associated with internal hemorrhoids is the appearance of blood when the patient passes his stools, fullness of his bowel movement and at the same time considerable anal discomfort.
